Many would question the need to address poverty, particularly those who are unaffected by it. However, poverty is not merely the problem of the poor, but also the legacy of the rich. It is both a matter of justice and human rights.
An understanding of the history of poverty provides insights into not just the problem, but also the solution(s), and why the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
The following documentary attempts to trace the history of poverty and explain some aspects of both the problem and the solution(s):
